The Central and East European
(European Law) Moot Competition is one of the most important
events in the law students’ calendar. Over the years we have
had many teams from Universities and Law Schools throughout
the region and further afield.
The standards have been high, the subjects very relevant: in
addition the atmosphere has been very friendly, the weekend
enjoyable for everybody: judges, coaches, teams. No one should
be afraid to come even if preparing takes a lot of work. With
10 new Member States, and others to follow, the competition
is even more relevant for their universities and those in neighbouring
States.
Make sure your university sends a team. I look forward to seeing
you in Poznań.

The Central and East European Moot competition, now in its fourteenth year, involves teams of law students from a number of countries in Central and Eastern Europe who will compete against each other in the simulated forum of the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg. The competition is organised by the British Law Centres of the University of Cambridge and held under the auspices of the Court of Justice of the European Communities and the University of Cambridge. In past years it has been held in Poland, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Slovakia and Slovenia.
